Internship Opportunities for Shareholders and Descendants

Goldbelt is proud to offer internship opportunities exclusively for our shareholders and their descendants. These internships are designed to provide meaningful career experience while supporting the professional growth of the next generation of our community.

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Be a voting shareholder of Goldbelt, Inc., or a lineal descendant of a voting shareholder.
  • Be enrolled full-time at an accredited university, or have graduated from an accredited university within the past six months.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative  GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates, 3.0 for graduate students.
  • Commit to a 10-week, full-time (40-hour/week) in-person program.

Internships in communications provide hands-on opportunities in marketing, public relations, and media, helping students build professional networks and practical experience. 

Goldbelt internships in information technology (IT) give students real-world experience in technology, systems, and project-based work, preparing them for future technical careers. 

Goldbelt offers internships in business and accounting, giving students practical experience in for-profit business operations, and management while developing key career skills. 

Work in Shareholder Services to learn all about the benefits provided to Goldbelt’s community of shareholders. 

Goldbelt offers externship placements for shareholders and shareholder descendants on a case-by-case basis. These opportunities provide hands-on experience in various industries, helping to build career skills and professional networks.

Frequently Asked Questions About Goldbelt's Internship Program

Yes. Interns are paid a hourly rate.

Voting Goldbelt shareholders and lineal descendants as defined by ANCSA (1971), including legally adopted children. Applicants must be enrolled full time in, or recently graduated from a degree or vocational program (minimum 2.0 GPA for undergraduates, 3.0 GPA for graduates) 

No. All Goldbelt internships are in-person placements at our corporate office, subsidiaries, or community partner locations. Remote internships are not available. 

Yes. Effective July 1, 2025, Alaska law requires all employees working in Alaska, including interns, to accrue paid sick leave. 

Yes. Goldbelt may provide travel assistance, such as plane tickets, to help interns travel between their college and the internship location at the start and end of the program. 

Interns are ultimately responsible for securing their own housing. However, Goldbelt offers limited housing options through university dorms or shared corporate housing, with priority given to applicants who meet housing deadlines. Additionally, Goldbelt provides a housing stipend to help offset costs for interns who arrange their own housing.

Yes. If a Goldbelt approved holiday occurs during the internship program period, the intern will receive holiday pay for that day, regardless of office closure.
