COVID-19 – July Business Update
The COVID-19 pandemic has continued to impact our lives and workplaces this summer. However, Goldbelt remains successful and productive despite the challenges of the pandemic. Goldbelt headquarters in Juneau, Alaska and the Goldbelt service center in Herndon, Virginia were closed to the public in March, with employees continuing to work regular schedules on a remote basis.
The Goldbelt corporate office in Juneau is open to the public as of July 1. Visitors are required to wear a face covering and sanitize their hands upon entry to the building. Many employees continue to work remotely in the interest of keeping building occupancy and risk of infection low, with only those employees whose work requires them to be in the office present on a regular schedule. Shareholders are encouraged to conduct business with Shareholder Services and Human Resources remotely if possible, to mitigate risk to themselves and employees. Employees from both departments are available to meet with shareholders at Goldbelt corporate headquarters from Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
The Herndon service center office remains closed to the public. 10-15 employees are rotating through on different days of the week. The Herndon office mitigation plan will be re-evaluated at the beginning of September. Employees continue to report to work remotely and productivity remains high.
Among Goldbelt’s subsidiary businesses, several have adapted operations to serve in pandemic prevention and response measures. LifeSource Biomedical and the federal government contracting arm of Goldbelt Security have been working to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and other essential medical supplies. Goldbelt C6 has been contracted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to work in COVID-19 testing and vaccine development.
While the ongoing pandemic has presented unique challenges, the Goldbelt team remains dedicated to serving shareholders and our customers.
