Katherine Eldemar Appointed to Board of Directors

Goldbelt’s Board of Directors have appointed Katherine Eldemar to fulfill the remaining two years of the term of former board member, Derek Duncan, who resigned this past May in order to accept the position of Vice President of Operations at Goldbelt, Inc.

“We had several excellent candidates for this board seat and we appreciate everyone who took the time to apply,” says Board Chair, Joseph Kahklen.  “However, with Katherine’s past service and her demonstrated commitment to our shareholders and community, the board felt that she was the right choice to complete this board term.”

Ms. Eldemar previously sat on the Goldbelt Board of Directors for three consecutive terms from 1988-97 where she served as Vice-Chair and Corporate Secretary.  She is currently on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Southeast Alaska, and most recently was appointed Co-chair of the Census 2010 Complete Count Committee for the City and Borough of Juneau.  She is a graduate of Seattle University’s Alber’s School of Business (BA) and the University of Puget Sound’s School of Law (J.D.).

Ms. Eldemar will join Delfin “Del” Cesar, Kathy Polk and Trudy Skan, who were recently elected to three year terms at the 36th Annual Meeting of Shareholders and current board members Joseph Kahklen, Andrea Cadiente-Laiti, Ben Coronell, Karen Taug and Randy Wanamaker.
