Goldbelt holds a group of adjacent parcels of non-ANCSA lands on Juneau’s waterfront that holds a three story office building and a marina that serves small cruise ships and large private yachts.  Located across the street from our hotel, the property is ideal for construction of a commercial structure that could house various commercial units including stores, restaurant, offices and small apartments that could be converted to expanded hotel rooms to supplement our need for additional rooms during the summer peak season.  In winter, the apartments could be available for lease to legislators and their staff.  For the longer term, Goldbelt has had informal discussions with the adjacent property owners, Merchants’ Wharf, about development of a cruise terminal that would provide secure berths for two 1,000 foot cruise ships.  Such a marine facility would provide enormous opportunities for development when the economy improves.
