LifeSource Biomedical, LLC (LSB), is an Alaska Native Corporation headquartered on the NASA Ames Research Center campus, Moffett Field, California.  LSB was awarded SBA 8(a) certification as a Small Disadvantaged Business in 2009, with our principal business practice in research and development support services (NAICS 541711/12).  We maintain offices in Frederick, Maryland, to support our government clients on the eastern seaboard, including Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

LSB is a premier provider of R & D services, offering those FDA-required preclinical studies and services that support discovery and development of new drugs, therapies and medical devices.  LSB operates a Contract Research Organization (CRO) for our commercial and government clients, where we provide in vivo studies and services to the pharmaceutical and biotech communities, including pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) studies, toxicology studies, rodent breeding colonies, xenograft studies and surgical models. 

We offer technical services for multiple species, from rodents to non-human primates; and our facilities are configured to accommodate larger species as required.  We also provide multiple levels of service, from limited support (lab space and husbandry), to technical and/or surgical support for research projects, to complete outsourcing of the study to our staff (from drafting of the protocol to completion of study report)—and all points in-between.  We offer the highest quality professional staffing for study direction and management, from our ACLAM-certified Attending Veterinarian to study directors and technical staff in a variety of disciplines.

The animal care and use program maintained by LSB is accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International, has an Assurance on file with the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW), and is a registered research facility with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  The LSB laboratory in Northern California offers our clients a secure research facility, with 24-hour access control and on-campus security services.
