Goldbelt Incorporated has two vehicles in its fleets that have been deemed surplus assets and will be sold to a Goldbelt shareholder or Goldbelt employee based on Goldbelt’s Asset Disposal Policy:

Dear Shareholders,

It has come to our attention that on several of the proxy ballots recently mailed for the 2012 Board elections, some of the shareholder identification numbers and amount of shares and votes were incorrect.   We have notified the Inspector of Elections and have been advised that we must invalidate those incorrect proxies. 

Therefore, we have reprinted your proxy ballot with the correct information and are sending via U.S. mail.  IF YOU HAVE ALREADY VOTED ON A PRE-PRINTED PROXY BALLOT, YOU MUST RE-VOTE YOUR PROXY ON A REVISED PRE-PRINTED PROXY BALLOT to ensure that all of your votes are counted correctly. 

Please note that the revised proxies are printed on mint green paper and have “Revised Proxy Ballot” written in the top right hand corner under the June 2^nd date of the Annual Meeting.  If you choose, you may also print a blank proxy and fill in the information by hand.  Click here to download a blank proxy.

ONLY REVISED PRE-PRINTED PROXY BALLOTS and those that are manually filled-out and signed will be eligible to receive the $25 voting incentive and entry into the Early Bird drawings.

Goldbelt, Inc.’s Career Development Program is now accepting applications for summer interns.  The internships provide shareholders and descendants an opportunity to gain hands-on professional experience in a variety of fields. 

Currently there are seventeen internships available in Juneau and at Goldbelt’s East Coast subsidiaries.  Some of the disciplines include:  accounting, administrative support, business development, corporate communications, human resources, marketing, hospitality management, retail merchandising, and records management. 

“Goldbelt is committed to providing development opportunities to our shareholders,” says Corporate Communications & Shareholder Relations Manager, Lisa-Marie Ikonomov, who oversees the program.  “We are proud to offer a unique internship program that provides participants an opportunity to not only gain hands-on experience in a professional setting, but also gain valuable knowledge from weekly career development workshops that will assist them as they complete their education and move into the workforce.”

All Career Development internships are paid an hourly wage and last for twelve weeks.  Lower 48 internships include housing assistance and a travel stipend.  Students continuing their education are also eligible for an additional scholarship of up to $500 at the completion of their internship. 

In order to be eligible for the program, applicants must be a Goldbelt shareholder or descendant and currently enrolled in or have completed within the past six months a college, university or vocational program.  For an application or to view a complete list of available internships, interested candidates should visit www.goldbelt.com/employment/career-development.  The priority deadline for applications is Friday, March 30^th.

Goldbelt has once again been named one of the state’s top forty-nine companies by Alaska Business Monthly.  

This year, Goldbelt ranked number twenty-six, an improvement over last year’s ranking of thirty-five. This is the fourteenth time the corporation has made the list in the past sixteen years.

Juneau, Alaska—the Board of Directors of Goldbelt, Inc., Juneau’s urban-based Native Corporation has named Robert G. Loiselle as its new President/CEO.  He takes over the position from Elliott “Chuck” Wimberly, who has been acting as interim since the retirement of J. Gary Droubay this past June.

“The Board of Goldbelt is pleased to have someone like Bob joining our team,” said Board Chair Karen Taug.  “He not only brings great perspective to our company, but also has solid business experience working in Alaska and he understands the unique nature of our Alaska Native Corporations.”

 Loiselle has almost thirty years experience with Alaska businesses and ANCSA corporations.  From 1999-2009 Loiselle served as President/CEO of Shee Atiká, Incorporated, the ANCSA Urban Native Corporation for Sitka.  Since his departure from Shee Atiká, he has provided consulting services to various ANCSA corporations and government contractors and most recently has served as General Manager of Orca International Management, LLC, a subsidiary of The Eyak Corporation.

“It is an honor to be given the opportunity to serve Goldbelt as its new President and CEO,” said Loiselle. “I look forward to working with the Board of Directors and all of Goldbelt’s employees as we continue to move the company forward, providing a variety of benefits to Goldbelt’s many shareholders.  This responsibility is a very serious one and I will do my utmost to help ensure Goldbelt’s continued growth and success.”

 Loiselle earned a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Oregon and also has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Forestry from the University of New Hampshire.  He will assume his duties later in January.
